Description
Current sensor output signal from these low-cost sensors provides an efficient solution for monitoring single-phase AC loads. They contain an AC rectifier circuit to directly output a 0 to 5VDC signal and require no power supply. Three full-scale ranges are available on the device for flexible current monitoring. Simply move the jumper to switch between 10A, 20A, and 50A full scale.
However, the output signal is proportional to the average current and may vary slightly from RMS ammeter readings depending on the load.
Note: If you are sensing low currents below 10A, you can wrap the primary cable through the hole twice, which makes the full-scale current 5A. Consequently, if you can fit 10 wraps of the primary, this becomes a 1A full-scale sensor.
This sensor is a non-clamping style and is on sale for clearance since we have a new clamping/split-core current transformer which is easier to install. Moreover, the sensor can be installed without disconnecting the current-carrying cable.
